Two Synchronous Pseudoinvasive Adenomas: Twice the Caution?

چکیده
A 69 year-old man was referred to our department for polypectomy after a previous colonoscopy for colorectal cancer screening revealed three pedunculated polyps in the colon. The subsequent colonoscopy confirmed the presence of one polyp with 10 mm in the transverse colon, and two in the sigmoid, about 15 mm each; conventional snare polypectomy was performed, without complications. The microscopic evaluation of the transverse polyp revealed a tubule-villous adenoma with low-grade dysplasia. The evaluation of both sigmoid polyps was identical revealing aggregates of dilated and slightly irregular glands in the

Synchronous Parotid and Homolateral Submandibular Gland Pleomorphic Adenoma
Introduction: Pleomorphic adenomas are benign neoplasms of salivary glands. The simultaneous homolateral occurrence of these tumors in salivary glands is exceedingly rare. Case Report: An adult female presenting to our OPD with the swelling of right-sided preauricular and submandibular regions was diagnosed with the pleomorphic adenoma based on fine needle aspiration c...
متن کاملSynchronous GH- and prolactin-secreting pituitary adenomas
UNLABELLED Pituitary adenomas are usually solitary lesions. Rarely, patients may present with two distinct pituitary tumors. We report a case of synchronous secretory pituitary adenomas in a woman who initially presented with elevated prolactin levels. She was initially treated with cabergoline, but, after many years, she began developing symptoms consistent with acromegaly. Imaging revealed tw...
متن کاملPaneth Cell in Adenomas of the Distal Colorectum Is Inversely Associated with Synchronous Advanced Adenoma and Carcinoma
Recent studies have linked appearance of Paneth cells in colorectal adenomas to adenoma burden and male gender. However, the clinical importance of Paneth cells' associations with synchronous advanced adenoma (AA) and colorectal carcinoma (CRC) is currently unclear. We performed a comprehensive case-control study using 1,900 colorectal adenomas including 785 from females, and 1,115 from males. ...
متن کاملSynchronous Small Cell Neuroendocrine Carcinoma and Adenocarcinoma of the Colon: A Link for Common Stem Cell Origin?
Synchronous carcinomas have been recognized for over a century, with synchronous primary adenocarcinoma of the colon reported to range from 2-11% of cases involving this type of malignancy. Small cell carcinomas occur frequently with colorectal adenomas; however, despite these reports and a known adenoma-to-carcinoma sequence, scarce literature exists on synchronous colorectal adenocarcinoma an...
متن کاملSynchronous and subsequent lesions of serrated adenomas and tubular adenomas of the colorectum.
The characteristics of synchronous and subsequent lesions of serrated adenomas (SAs) of the colorectum are still unclear. This study aimed to clarify the characteristics of synchronous and subsequent lesions of SAs compared with tubular adenomas (TAs) of the colorectum. Patients were divided into 2 groups: SA (127 patients) and TA (158 patients). The mean follow-up durations in the SA and TA gr...
